HOW TO MAKE

“WEDANG JAHE”

 


Tools and materials :

·         1 medium sized ginger segment

·         1 lemongrass

·         100 grams of brown sugar

·         75 grams of sugar

·         500 ml of water

·         Pan

·         Clamp

·         Cutting board

·         Glass

 

Manufacturing steps :

1)     Prepare tools and materials


2)      Prepare 1 segment of ginger, then burn until cooked


3)      Remove and wash the ginger that has been burned


4)      o'clock until flat 1 lemongrass and ginger that has been burned



5)      Prepare the pan. Then add 100 grams of brown sugar, 75 grams of granulated sugar, ginger, lemongrass, and 500ml of water



6)      Cook all ingredients until sugar dissolves, water is boiling and flavorful. Approximately 15 minutes


7)      When it is cooked, remove from heat and serve Wedang Ginger in the prepared glass
8)      Wedang Ginger ready to be enjoyed

 



Definition of Wedang Jahe

Wedang jahe (Javanese: ꦮꦺꦢꦁ ꦗꦲꦺ, translit. Wédang jaé) is a traditional ginger drink dish from the Mataraman area such as DI Yogyakarta, Central Java (Semarang, Magelang and Surakarta) and western part of East Java which are generally served warm or hot.

Benefits of Wedang Ginger

1.      Relieves aches and pains
Gingerols and phenols, chemical compounds in ginger, are painkillers that can relieve pain. Both are effective in relieving symptoms of gastric irritation, relieving menstrual cramps, and muscle aches after exercise.
 
2.      Eliminate nausea
There is no doubt about the reputation of ginger as a nausea remover and seasick prevention. Drinking ginger water is also useful for relieving nausea and vomiting, including what appears as a side effect of recovery after surgery, chemotherapy, and pregnancy (morning sickness).

Regularly drinking ginger water can help prevent and reduce inflammation caused by osteoarthritis and rheumatic joint pain.
This is because a number of active components in ginger, such as gingerol, gingerdione, and zingeron work to reduce natural substances that trigger inflammation in the body. Ginger also contains oleoresin which works to fight inflammation.
4.      Rich in antioxidants to fight the risk of chronic disease
Dried ginger is a high source of antioxidants, which have the potential to protect you from the ill effects of free radicals. Your body can get free radicals from the surrounding environment, such as exposure to sunlight, radiation, ozone, cigarette smoke, air pollution from exhaust fumes, industrial chemicals, and the food and drinks you consume.
5.      Controlling diabetes blood sugar levels
There have been many studies that report ginger can lower blood sugar levels and help regulate insulin response in diabetics.
The anti-inflammatory properties in ginger can also prevent complications of diabetes, such as retinopathy, heart disease, and stroke. Researchers report this benefit will be felt more beneficial when ginger water is mixed with cinnamon powder.
6.      Lose weight
A study conducted on 10 men reported that regularly drinking hot ginger water after breakfast caused a feeling of fullness longer than just breakfast alone. Another study also found ginger can help reduce appetite.
